Dear Peter
Please accept my resignation from the Police Association effective 16 June, 1999, this being my last day of service with SAPOL. I thank you and all your colleagues at the association office for your efforts during the 12-and-a-half years I have been a member. I cannot imagine what our working conditions would be had it not been for our association.
I thank the hundreds of members I have had the pleasure of meeting and working with throughout SAPOL and other Government departments over that time. To single out individuals would be a lengthy process and one which would undoubtedly leave someone out. However, special mention must be made of the members, past and present, in the Forensic Services Branch (formerly Technical Services). My time with them has allowed me to see parts of this State I had never heard of, often at some ungodly hour. To get involved in and touch, smell, see and never forget things that most coppers are quite glad they have techs to do that part of the job for them. The camaraderie, particularly in the early years, will provide fond memories for many years to come. Similarly, those members of the Barossa-Yorke LSA with whom I have worked most recently.
Because of my childrens age, the need to seriously consider their future opportunities, and the continuing virtual bankruptcy of the local economy, I believe my familys interests are better served outside of South Australia. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with SAPOL, the highs and the lows, which is why, after much consideration, I intend to continue my career with the Queensland Police Service. If my time with them is as rewarding as the last 12-and-a-half years, I will be very happy indeed.
To those who remain, I wish you all well in the future and thank you for the memories.
Kindest regards
Gordon Drage
Senior Constable
Yorke Physical Evidence/BA Section
Dear Peter
I am forwarding this letter to advise you of my resignation from the Police Association due to my resignation from SAPOL effective from 25 June, 1999.
I thank all of those I worked with over my 15 years with SAPOL and wish everyone all the best for the future.
Regards
Brenton Day
Constable 801/1
Dear Andy
Please accept my resignation as a member of the Police Association effective from 2 July, 1999.
After 42 years service I have decided to experience that busy life every one talks about called retirement, and if there is time to spare, perhaps a game or two of golf. I believe it takes a special type of person to be a police officer as the police profession is unique and only really understood by those who have experienced it and their families, especially the shift work and constraints it places on relationships. I take with me the many memories of the good and not-so-good times I have shared with all those I have served.
To Gus and the team at Tea Tree Gully, err, Para Hills, or whatever we are called, thanks for being a great bunch to complete my service with.
Bob Boscence
Sergeant 1468/3
Dear Sir
I am tending my resignation from the Police Association of South Australia from 4 July, 1999.
I will be returning to full-time study at the University of South Australia to complete my PhD degree evaluating the performance of Australian police as peacekeepers in Cyprus. This will take six months and after Christmas I will see what opportunities open to me.
I firmly believe that the pay and conditions of South Australian officers would be far worse if it were not for the efforts of PASA and I thank all of you for your efforts over the years.
Yours faithfully
RJ OBrien
Holden Hill Investigations

Regards
Sarah Thiele

Dear Andy
This is to inform you that I am retiring from the South Australia Police Department, with my last day of service being 14 July, 1999.
Please accept my resignation from the Police Association as of that date.
I thank the Police Association for the work it has done over the years, as well as the many police officers who I have worked with during my career. I especially thank those who I have worked with over the last 10 years in the Gawler police district.

Dear Andy
Please accept my resignation from the association due to my retirement from the police force, which will occur on 16 July, 1999.
Over the years (21.3) I have made some great friends and to all those people over the years I say thank you. The memories that I have are many and varied, and I could fill a book on what occurred, but instead I will just say goodbye and thanks for the memories.
Paul R Little
Sergeant 3378/9

Dear Andy
Please accept my resignation from the Association owing to my retirement from SAPOL effective 16 July, 1999.
I thank the Association for both its personal support to me over the years and its ever-increasing professional approach and wish it continuing good standing and success.
To the many members with whom I have served, especially in the latter years of my long career, I say thank you for your friendship and support for and acceptance of what some in SAPOL saw as unorthodox ideas and management practices. Perhaps at some future point service delivery and diversity can co-exist without prejudice.
Wishing all the very best
Sincerely
Peter Magerl
Communications Division

Dear Peter
Please accept my resignation from the Police Association due to retirement from SAPOL. My last day of service will be 28 July, 1999.
I wish to thank you, Peter, for many memories, some of which still bring a quiet smile, and for all the efforts you and the Association staff have made on our behalf over the years and particularly since TSDs move to Ottoway.
All the very best for the future
Art Suter
MCIS
Dear Peter
Please accept my resignation from the Association as of 25 August, 1999, due to personal reasons. I will be moving on and taking up a position in the security industry. Some 32 years ago when I first joined the job I had three ambitions: to be a speed cop (28 years); to achieve the giddy heights of senior constable (21 years); and to retire as a senior constable speed cop - mission accomplished. All of my best to you, the association and all members for the future.
Regards
WJ (Billy T) Thomas
Escort Section
State Highway Task Force
The Secretary
We hereby tender our resignation from the Police Association. We have thoroughly enjoyed being police officers and our years of service but have now decided to pursue other opportunities. We are moving to the Gold Coast to live and have commenced a small family business. Good luck to all our colleagues and friends in their chosen career paths
Troy and Rachel Meuris
To whom it may concern
Please accept my resignation from the Police Association effective forthwith.
KD Taylor
