Adelaide Hosts Police Football Championships

A squad of 30 players will be selected to represent the SAPOL football team at this year’s Australian police football championships. Four states will compete at the October carnival at Richmond Oval. And, as last year’s runners-up, the SAPOL team is determined this year to emerge victorious.

Regardless of their capability levels, all footballers are invited to participate in the campaign for the championship. The SAPOL team is not a “closed shop” - all newcomers are welcome.

The championships are an excellent forum through which to meet colleagues within SAPOL and counterparts from other states.

Six matches make up the fixture:

Training begins in the weeks leading up to the championships after most finals have been completed. All past and prospective players will be notified of dates and venue. As many SAPOL players already compete at high levels, competition for places in the squad will be intense.

Anyone seeking involvement or with knowledge of others who may be interested in competing should contact Paul Sinor at Port Adelaide or Assistant Coach Paul Patterson at STAR Division.

Assistance is required from those able to act as trainers, timekeepers and caterers on match days. Expressions of interest should be directed to Colin Miller at Henley Beach Enquiries.
