AT THE CINEMA

RUG RATS MOVIE

If your family is about to face the biggest adventure to happen in any household - the birth of a new baby - then the Rug Rats Movie will be for you.

It sees Stu and Didi Pickles struggle with the changes associated with the arrival of baby Dylan (Dil). Big brother, Tommy, and his pals decide that the baby’s antics are cramping their style. The team decides to take Dil back to the “hop-sickle”.

As you would expect, the rugrats lose their way. They end up in a vast forest, populated by looming shadows, a wily wolf, a mysterious wizard and a group of hungry monkeys that have escaped from the circus.

Throughout the adventure, the team learns deep lessons about friendship and family. Not only is it great fun, but the Rug Rats Movie may also teach the young ones a thing or two - but don’t tell them.

The Rug Rats Movie is now showing at Greater Union: Marion Megaplex and City Cinemas. The Police Journal has some great Rug Rats products to give away. For the opportunity to win, put your details on the back of a used envelope and address it to Mike Horsfall, Sturt Police Station (12) Rug Rats.

ON VIDEO
187

While there are plenty of great video releases this month - for both rental and sale - 187 will be the most startling. Starring Samuel L Jackson, 187 is a teacher’s story. It portrays school life in America, or more precisely, the safety of the teaching profession.

What is so frightening is the real chance that schools in Australia could well head in a similar direction, but hopefully not to the same extreme. With recent fear that teachers will lose any control they may still have in the classroom, the release of 187 is very timely.

It’s recommended for parents and anyone associated with the teaching profession. Be warned - 187 is suitable only for mature adults and is quite brutal. It’s available for purchase now at an RRP of $29.95.

ON CD
PSYCHO

If you’re after something loud with energy, listen to Psycho - Music from and inspired by the Motion Picture. While the recent remake of the cinema classic didn’t do well at the box office, the CD could easily attract a cult following.

There are 14 tracks on the Psycho CD, which features the eerie film score and other great tracks including Psycho by Teddy Thompson, Living Dead Girl by Rob Zombie, and Psycho Killer by James Hall.

Check in, relax and take a shower, but be warned - this recording contains explicit language. For the opportunity to win a copy of the Psycho CD put your details on the back of a used envelope and address it to Mike Horsfall, Sturt Police Station (12) Psycho.
