Tiger Woods ‘99 PGA Tour Golf

Tiger Woods ’99 is the latest golf simulation game to grace the shelves for PlayStation and is by far the most simplified golf game on the market. It’s a fast-paced, energetic new video golf game. For a long time, video golf games have been too slow, but TW ’99 gameplay is fast and great to play with friends. (Play 18 holes in 30 minutes or less.)

There are 10 game play modes in which to compete, from practice, stroke and tournament play, to skins, fourball and tour mode. There are five authentic PGA Tour courses to play and seven different PGA Tour Professionals to compete as or against.

A new 3D camera view allows you to track your ball from the moment it leaves the club to the time it lands on the fairway or green (or bushes). There’s an “in-flight” ball spin which allows you to change the movement of the ball while it’s in the air, and even spin the ball back when it hits the green.

The makers have included the traditional “three-click-swing” option for hitting the ball, or you can test your skill (and patience) with the analogue swing feature which utilises your analogue controller.

The game comes with a pumping soundtrack and sound effects equal to any game of this genre. The graphics are excellently textured and control movements smooth and responsive.

Tiger Woods ’99 is a must for all golf enthusiast and sports game fans alike.
