Mysteries of Egypt
The first IMAX® film adventure from National Geographic is now showing. Mysteries of Egypt, presented by National Geographic Channel, captures Egypt for the first time on the giant screen. Patch Adams
Also showing this month (March 25) is a film of a different kind - Patch Adams. Academy Award winner Robin Williams stars in a movie described as a comedy with heart.
Patch Adams is based on the true story of a compassionate but outrageous medical student who risks his career by defying the medical profession with his unwavering belief that laughter is contagious. Patch wanted to be a clown, but he also wanted to be a physician. The highly versatile star racks up another milestone as he takes an inspiring and colourful real-life character whose reputation for zany, humorous antics rivals his own.
Patch Adams director, Tom Shaydac, directed the smash hit comedies Ace Ventura - Pet Detective, Liar Liar and The Nutty Professor. In his latest film, Shaydac tackles a much more realistic and dramatic story based on Patchs struggle to help others, while still maintaining his sense of humour. For the opportunity to win a double pass put your details on the back of a used envelope and address it to Mike Horsfall, Sturt Police Station (12) Patch.
The soundtrack to Patch Adams is also available. With such artists as Rod Stewart, Eric Clapton, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, the Rascals and Sly and the Family Stone, the album should satisfy a variety of musical tastes. Listening to the soundtrack one cant help but experience the pain and elation that Patch endures as the music follows his trials and tribulations.
