AT THE CINEMA
T-REX, BACK TO THE
CRETACEOUS
T-REX - Back to the Cretaceous has arrived at IMAX - and its a winner. Its huge; its amazing; and its right here in Adelaide. Utilising the IMAX® 3D Experience T-REX brings the dinosaurs into the theatre - not just on the screen.
T-REX - Back to the Cretaceous
The Best Man
![]() |
Shot in Alberta, Canada, at Dinosaur Provincial Park, T-REX is IMAXs biggest, most elaborate production to date. In a 45-minute adventure, teenager Ally Hayden is thrust into the cretaceous. With her, you will explore the terrain and territory of larger-than-life dinosaurs and see dinosaurs come to life with incredible detail and realism. T-REX- Back to the Cretaceous is the pick of the crop at IMAX Adelaide this holiday season - nothing even comes close to the experience.
THE BEST MAN and ATLANTIS
For those who desire a more cultural experience, step over to the other side of the street and visit Cinema Nova. Among the movies on offer there will be The Best Man - a film by Antonio Avati and Aurelio De Laurentiis.
On her wedding day on New Years Eve, 1899, Francesca was very much in love, unfortunately not with the groom. Her marriage had been arranged - love was not an issue.
During the wedding ceremony Francesca idly peruses the guests. By chance (or fate) she sights Angelo who has just returned to the village after 15 years in America. Their eyes meet and never seem to part. She is sure he has returned to save her from a terrible fate, but what follows is only confusion, despair and hopelessness.
The Best Man provides a wonderful insight into the cultures of the past, the Italian way of life and the hearts of those in love. With his olive complexion and warm brown eyes, Diego Abantantuono is charming as Angelo. Ines Sastre is perfectly cast as Francesca - her warmth and beauty is alluring. Notwithstanding subtitles, The Best Man is the choice movie for the refined moviegoer.
Also at Nova is Atlantis - a marine opera by Luc Beeson with music by Eric Serra. Atlantis is 76 minutes of undersea images captured from locations such as the Loyal Islands, Great Barrier Reef, British Colombia and the Bahamas. The stars of Atlantis are the creatures of the deep gracefully moving to the musical score. Take time out to just sit and relax while you absorb the images and sounds of Atlantis.
LEGIONNAIRE
As far as entertainment goes Jean-Claude Van Damme is an exciting fighter and kick boxer. His latest release sees him enter the French Foreign Legion to escape his pursuers. We might have all been better off if he hadnt escaped. Legionnaire is one movie not to see and evidence that Van Damme should stick to fighting and leave acting and producing alone.

I KNOW WHAT YOU DID
LAST SUMMER
If Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the Thirteenth are your types of horror films, then I Know What You Did Last Summer will not disappoint. Its a thrill-a-minute (or scare-a-minute) thriller that sees a victim of an apparent fatal car crash search for justice.
The star of the movie would have to be Jennifer Love Hewitt (Party of Five) with support from Sarah Michelle Geller (Buffy the Vampire Slayer). I Know What You Did Last Summer is rated MA and is available for purchase now at a RRP of $24.95. Its sell-through release coincides with the cinema showing of the sequel, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, which is equally as horrifying as the original.
For the opportunity to win a copy, of I Know What You Did Last Summer, put your details on the back of a used envelope and address it to Mike Horsfall, Sturt Police Station (12) Summer.
