Meeting
Forty-one Retired Police Officers Association members attended their first monthly meeting for the year in Fenwick Hall last February. President Les Morris was, at the time, in hospital undergoing a hip-replacement procedure and so could not attend. The RPOA wishes him well.
Vice-president Lex Teague filled in for the absent president, while Heather Hemingway entertained members with a repertoire of old and new songs.
Christmas in July
Rae Holloway is attempting to organize a Christmas-in-July luncheon at the Police Club restaurant on July 7. The cost should appear in the next issue of the Police Journal.
Those interested in attending can contact Rae on 8556 6787. To make this an occasion to remember, as many people as possible should attend.
Diary dates
The RPOA annual barbecue at Fort Largs is scheduled for October 23, and the annual dinner will be held at the Police Club restaurant on November 24.
Annual fees
The RPOA reminds members who pay their fees annually that that money is now well overdue. At great cost, the RPOA has sent out reminder notices. Members should forward their fees ASAP to treasurer, Don O’Doherty, at 3 Margaret Court, Melrose Park, 5039.
Graduation
Vice-president Lex Teague presented the RPOA trophy to Probationary Constable Ian Rae at the graduation ceremony of course 58 on February 16.
Regional news
The RPOA committee is arranging a luncheon – to be held at the Waikerie Hotel on April 28 – for members who reside in the Riverland region, and anticipates a good response.

The RPOA extends its sympathy to the families of Vernal Juers and Richard Rudzinski.
New members
The RPOA welcomes new members Margaret Hall, Peter Brook, Roger Zeuner, Graham Bawden and Gwen Devine.
