Meeting
Ninety Retired Police Officers Association members attended their
monthly meetings in Fenwick Hall in August and September. The Kingfishers
(August) and Eugene & Georgina (Sept) provided entertainment.
Picnic
Bookings for the RPOA’s October 24 picnic are slow. Rae Holloway
will close the bookings on October 15. For catering purposes, it is
essential to ascertain numbers before the event.
Dinner
Bookings for the November 25 RPOA dinner will close on November 18.
Those who plan to attend can book through Rae Holloway on 8556 6787.
The $20 per-person payment is to be made before the dinner.
Subscriptions
All RPOA members who pay their subs annually should do so now. The
$15.60 payment should be made to RPOA treasurer, Don O’Doherty, at
3 Margaret Court, Melrose Park, SA 5039.
Service medal
Discussion has opened up with the WA police commissioner to consider
the issue of the service medal for those who apply for it. This was
covered in the WA Police News, which RPOA president, Les Morris, has
made available to Commissioner Mal Hyde. He has promised to look further
into the issue. The RPOA will advise members of the outcome.
Graduation
President Les Morris presented the RPOA trophy to Probationary Constable
Douglas Thompson at the graduation of Course 54 on August 18.
Vale
The RPOA extends its deepest sympathy to the families of Aloysius
