This event was cancelled because of extreme heat in February. Owing to time constraints, it will not be played in the current season’s calendar.

Men’s fours

The SAPBC and the Master Builders supplied seven teams each to do battle in a men’s fours competition at the Lockleys Bowling Club in mid-March. Under lights on a somewhat cold evening, both clubs used the event to fine-tune their teams for up-coming carnivals. The scores were:

Pairs

After several date-changes, the SAPBC held its drawn pairs competition at the Henley Bowling Club in late March. Competitor numbers were down on those of previous years, as some members were involved in pennant finals. The standard of bowling, however, remained high.

At the end of the day’s play, Andy Hall and Lyall Savage were declared pairs champions for 2003-04. They had performed grandly, winning each of the three matches in which they had competed.

Mixed fours – closing day

The SAPBC participated in the final tournament for the 2003-04 season at the Elizabeth Bowling Club in early April. Twenty teams took to the greens in perfect weather conditions. The results were:

Winners of the winners
Liz Boyer (lead)
Rose Szentgyovgyi (second)
Graham Boyer (third)
Otto Szentgyovgyi (skip)

Winners of the losers
Ruth Atkinson (lead)
Cos Cavaiuolo (second)
Frank Atkinson (third)
Danny Fitzgerald (skip)
