Police Credit Union

What a buzz! Home loans that don’t sting you for fees every month

What kind of home loan do you want?

Yes, you want an attractive low interest rate. Yes, you want flexible repayment options. And, yes, you want quick approval from someone local who can also give you good advice.

But what you don’t want are those niggling account keeping fees month after month after month. Police Credit Union provides an extensive range of home and investment loans to suit your individual needs.

Range of loan types

Our range of credit options is specifically designed for the purpose of home or investment property purchase, refinancing your existing mortgage, or to use your existing home equity for any worthwhile purpose.

  • Fixed rates from 1 year to 5 years.
  • Honeymoon Home Loan.
  • Very competitive Variable Rates.
  • Allegro Line of Credit Home Loan.
  • The option of a Split Loan.
  • Bridging Loan.
  • Construction Loans.
  • Mortgage Secured.

No account keeping fees

With a Police Credit Union loan there are no account keeping fees and loan repayments can be taken directly from your pay, therefore avoiding transfer fees.

Redraw facility

A redraw facility, available on variable-rate home loans, allows you to gain access to money through extra payments you may have made over the term of the loan (for a small fee).

Payments

Payments are required weekly fortnightly or monthly, and can be made by payroll, transfers via phone or Internet, QuickDebit, over-the-counter deposits or by posting a cheque.

Allegro Line of Credit Home Loan

Allegro is the Police Credit Union’s secured Line of Credit Home Loan, with a low, very competitive discount to variable rate for the first 12 months. By bringing all of your accounts into a single all-in-one account you can dramatically reduce the time it takes to pay off your home loan.

You can use Allegro Line of Credit as a transactional account. Have your pay going directly into Allegro and then pay your bills and other expenses directly from it. As interest is calculated daily, the unused portion of your income is working for you, to reduce the interest you will pay.

Quite simply, Allegro Line of Credit Home Loan is like a large overdraft secured by residential or investment property. The account can be accessed like a savings account using cheque books, VISA Card, EFTPOS, ATM, Ivy Phone Banking, PCUnet Internet Banking & BPAY. You can even have bills paid automatically from the account using Periodical Payments, and direct debits.

Honeymoon Home Loans

Honeymoon Home Loans offer a fixed period at the start of the loan, and then revert to a variable rate for the rest of the term. They offer a very competitive rate for the fixed period of your loan, when your balance is highest, so that you pay as little interest as possible.

Split Loans

A Split Loan is where part of the interest rate is fixed and part is variable. You decide the mix – choose any combination you like. For example, you can have 30% of the loan fixed and 70% on the variable rate. For each combination, each component must be for a minimum of $30,000. Split Loans allow you to make the best of an uncertain interest rate market.

Split Loans are available for home or investment property borrowing.

Bridging Loans

Bridging Loans are available for members who wish to buy a new home yet haven’t sold their current ones, and provide them with up to 12 months’ breathing space to sell their old properties.

Construction Loans

These loans are especially for those who want to build their own property rather than buy an established one. Progress payments are made direct to the builder with regular valuations on the work completed.
