Police Superannuation

SA Police Super

The Police Superannuation Office is responsible to the Police Superannuation Board for the management and administration of the day-to-day operations of the Police Superannuation Pension and Lump Sum schemes.

Police Superannuation Board

The Police Superannuation Board’s role is to administer the Police Pension and Lump Sum superannuation schemes and to ensure that members are provided with quality superannuation services. The Police Superannuation Board is not responsible for the investment of the assets of the Police Superannuation Fund.

The Superannuation Funds Management Corporation of South Australia (a separate body to the Board) (Funds SA) is responsible for the management and investment of the assets (member contributions) of the Police Superannuation Fund.

Current board members

  • Mrs Dawn Garrett (principal, Mercer Human Resource Consulting): appointed as presiding member by the Governor on the Minister’s nomination.
  • Miss Kathryn Finnigan (retired police officer): appointed as member by the Governor on the Minister’s nomination (deputy member Mr G W Powell).
  • Chief Superintendent Kingsley Oakley (manager, Operations Support Service Co-ordinator): appointed as member by the Governor on the Minister’s nomination (deputy member Superintendent M G Trueman).
  • Senior Sergeant Trevor Haskell (senior welfare officer, Police Welfare Section): appointed as member by the Governor on the nomination of the Police Association of South Australia (deputy member Sergeant B Zimmermann).
  • Sergeant Michael Standing (detective, Major Crime Task Force): appointed as member by the Governor on the nomination of the Police Association of South Australia (deputy member Senior Sergeant I Robertson).

The Board generally meets once a month to consider:

  • Member enquiries.
  • Claims for invalidity and disability benefits.
  • Member communications.
  • Investment reports from Funds SA.
  • Review administrative matters, such as benefit payments and administration costs.

Police Superannuation Office

Serving and retired members seeking information regarding their membership, entitlements, etc, are invited to contact our office. Information is available by telephone, e-mail, personal interview by appointment or in writing. Group information sessions can also be arranged upon request.
