Meeting

Fifty-five Retired Police Officers Association members attended their monthly meeting on May 1 and were welcomed by President Les Morris. New member Margaret Cornish and returned member Rotha Patterson received special welcomes.

Rod and Patti of the musical duo, Kingfisher, provided the afternoon’s entertainment. Feet tapped to their various numbers, which all present endorsed with thunderous applause.

Trips

The RPOA committee is looking into an autumn trip to Bright in 2004. This will involve a good deal of planning and commitment from both the committee and members. The RPOA will provide bulletins on the progress of the arrangements.

AGM

Nomination forms for positions on the RPOA committee have been made available at meetings. Elections will be held on July 3. The RPOA encourages members to show interest in their association and make themselves available to serve. The association is only as good as the representatives who run it. You may be able to make a difference.

New members

The RPOA welcomes John Forgan, Chris Farmer and Geoffrey Matthews as new members.

Vale

The RPOA extends it deepest sympathy to the families of Katherine (Kit) Dillon and May Collins.

Diary dates

  • RPOA picnic (October 19)
