Dear Andy
Please accept my resignation as a member of the Police
Association of SA due to my resignation from SAPOL on December 11, 2002.
I wish to thank the association for its assistance and
support in recent years. To those in the job who have stood by me, I thank you
and wish you well.
After initial setbacks, I certainly proved my critics wrong. I
have spent 17 years with SAPOL, nearly half my life. My career has been spent
entirely in the country Whyalla, Ceduna, Penong, Millicent, Port Lincoln
and Marla. I am proud of my achievements, and the hard moral decisions I have
been forced to make.
Life was not always easy living in the country, especially
remote, away from family, old friends and general medical and specialist
medical facilities. There has not always been a lot of back-up from SAPOL
services, either. We learnt to do the best we could with little or no
assistance, and training, and were continually criticized along the way.
I do hope that, in future, better support to country members
in tough locations, mainly remote, is given to those members, to help boost
morale, and increase volunteers to the country (just look at how many positions
in the country have to be advertised more than once).
But once having done more than ones fair share of the
country policing, transferring to a respite location from remote
areas should be supported and made easier, instead of being hindered at every
turn. I also hope that one day there will be more support for females in the
country, especially supervisors. I wish you all well in the future.
I also thank Airwing for its assistance with flights to
Adelaide from Marla and Coober Pedy whilst pregnant with Hannah.
To those of Course 14 who are left, I wish you all the best
when the going gets tough.
I end my career whilst on maternity leave at Elliston. It is
now time for my sea change. I will be looking after our two children, enjoying
a well-deserved rest doing a bit of fishing.
Yours sincerely

Dear Andy
Please accept my resignation from the Police Association due
to my retirement on April 9, 2003.
I wish to thank all those members with whom I have come into
contact during my 31-plus years service. A special thanks goes to all
those who have served at Murray Bridge during the last eight years.
I know I will miss the companionship, friendship and
camaraderie that exist within SAPOL.
Many thanks also to the association for its dedication and
effort in achieving the benefits and conditions we enjoy today.
I am very happily moving to Victor Harbor where I have taken
up a position with Weston Real Estate and there is an open invitation for all
members to drop in at anytime.
Best of luck to all.
Yours sincerely

Dear Andy
Please accept my resignation from PASA effective April 27,
2003, this being my last day of service with SAPOL. Overall, I have enjoyed my
16 years in this job. I thank everyone I have worked with, in particular, those
people at Licensing and Gaming Advice Section who have put up with me for the
last 12 months. I am looking forward to my best career move yet to be a
full time mum.
