Anger Management
Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson star in a comedy about a
mild-mannered young man who is put into the care of an anger management
therapist who looks as if he needs more help than his client.
After a misunderstanding aboard an aircraft that escalates out of
control, Dave Buznik (Sandler) is ordered by a judge to attend anger management
sessions run by Dr Buddy Rydell (Nicholson).
Rydells unorthodox treatment is confrontational and
abrasive, but poor Dave is unassertive and uncomfortable about expressing his
true feelings.
Rydell believes that his patient must come to terms with his
pent-up anger. So he puts him through some hilarious ordeals in which Dave must
decide whether to crawl back into his shell or stand up for himself.
Dave has to cope with confronting a childhood tormentor, being
propositioned by a transvestite, and being forced to team up with the most
explosive member of the anger management therapy group, Chuck (John Turton).
For relaxation, Dave is made to stop in the middle
of Queensboro Bridge, New York, in the middle of rush hour to sing I Feel
Pretty.
Watch out for a surprise cameo appearance by Woody Harrelson.
Sweet Sixteen
Sweet Sixteen is a powerful and grittily realistic
story of a Scottish teenager, Liam, from the working-class suburb of Greenock
near Glasgow.
His mother is due to be released from prison on his 16th
birthday.
Liam played superlatively by Martin Compston
has an unhappy relationship with his mothers drug-dealer boyfriend Stan
(Gary McCormack) and his grandfather Rab (Tommy McKee).
The two men try to get Liam to smuggle drugs into prison for
his mother Jean (Michelle Coulter) to sell to her fellow prisoners, but he
refuses to do so and earns a savage thrashing.
Liam runs away from home to live with his sister, an unmarried
mother.
He dreams that he and his mother might one day settle down and
live together as a family. But this would mean creating a safe haven beyond the
reach of losers like his mothers boyfriend and his own mean-spirited
grandfather.
To realize this dream, however, Liam must first raise cash.
But he makes all the wrong choices.
Director Ken Loach (Kathy Come Home) has long been
famous for his true-to-life productions. Sweet Sixteen won the Cannes
best screenplay award for Loachs long-time collaborator Paul Laverty.

The mutants are back, with almost the entire cast of the original
movie X-Men.

mutants who are super heroes born with unique powers that have made them
outcasts.
When an aggressor with mutant-like abilities launches a
shocking attack, there is an immediate public outcry and demand for a so-called
Mutant Registration Act.
A wealthy ex-army commander William Stryker (Brian Cox) leads an
anti-mutant movement. He is rumoured once to have experimented on them
possibly even on Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), who still searches for clues about
his origins.
As part of his strategy, Stryker launches an attack on the
mansion of Xavier (Patrick Stewart).
The powerful mutant Magneto (Ian McKellen) who believes that
mutants will never be able to exist in harmony with normal humans has
escaped from prison. He suggests to Xavier that they join forces to combat
their common and formidable enemy: Stryker.

in their hands, the X-Men face their most dangerous mission ever.
