Dear Andy
Please accept my resignation from the Police Association due
to my retirement from SAPOL, effective February 28, 2003.
I wish to thank all the members with whom I have served over
the last 38 years. I have had some great times and not-so-great, but I have
found that most members are very dedicated to the cause of assisting members of
the public in a variety of situations.
I would add that I have had more good times than bad, and
this has been due to the comradeship and loyalty of the members I have been
associated with and worked with over those years.
Some members have been negative towards the department but, at
the end of the day, our needs are well catered for in the present
circumstances. The association has done a wonderful job and no doubt it will
continue to do so for the benefit of its members in the future.
I wish all members the best for the future as it’s time
for me to concentrate on other interests (namely fishing) in my life.
