Meeting
Sixty-two Retired Police Officers Association members
attended their monthly meeting in Fenwick Hall on Feb 6. RPOA president, Les
Morris, welcomed the gathering, before Assistant Commissioner Graham Barton
gave an excellent talk on his recent exchange trip to Britain, where he worked
with the Kent Police.
That forces extensive use of technology to apprehend
criminals and clear up offences seemed mind-boggling. Without the use of visual
aids, Asst Commissioner Barton managed to enthral the gathered. Most harked
back to the period between the 1940s and 80s, when they had served in the
job and few had ever dreamt of the use of such technology.
