The Last Shift

Dear Andy

Please accept my resignation from the Police Association following my retirement from SAPOL on October 2, 2002.

Thanks to you and the association for your assistance and hard work over the years that I have been a member.

I wish all SAPOL members the best for the future. May you have many good shifts spread amongst the traumatic ones we endure.

Thanks to all the members I have served with over the past 36 years, especially at Forensic Services Branch and Freedom of Information.
Yours sincerely
John O’Neil
Sergeant 1676/6

Dear Andy

Please accept my resignation from the Police Association due to my retirement from SAPOL on October 21, 2002.

I commend the PASA committee, staff and delegates for their efforts in supporting the members and improving our conditions over the years.

I have enjoyed my 41 years’ service, especially the last four at IIB and Audit Section.

Best wishes for the future.
Kind regards
Perc White
Senior Sergeant 1548/4
Audit Section

Dear Andy

I wish to advise you that due to me deciding to take early retirement from SAPOL, I wish to tender my resignation from the Police Association.

My last day officially is November 12, 2002, also my 50th birthday. I wish to thank Andy, Mark and Tom for their help and assistance during the past 12 months.

I wish to thank the many hundreds of police officers I have worked with in the past 30 years. I especially thank the police officers I have worked with in police communications for the past 25 years.

The men and women who work in police communications do a great job, and sometimes handling very stressful situations.

I personally don’t believe that police communications has always received the credit it deserves. It has been treated by SAPOL as a “punishment area”.

My advice to any police officer “seconded” to ComCen in the future is: go with a positive attitude and make the most of your 12 months there. You will learn a lot and be a better police officer for the experience.

I wish all members good health and all the best for the future.

I intend to travel overseas – England, NZ and Canada – in the next few years.
Cheers
JS (Steve) Kempster
Senior Constable
2167/6
