Meeting
Fifty-three Retired Police Officers Association members attended their monthly meeting in Fenwick Hall in October. RPOA president, Les Morris, welcomed the members, while Arthur and Me entertained with a variety of old and new songs and a hint of Christmas.
Dinner
Bookings for the RPOA annual dinner are now closed, as a quota of members has been achieved. The RPOA apologizes to those who missed out this year.
Those who wish to put their names forward for placement on a waiting list in the event of cancellations should contact Raelene on 8556 6787. The dinner commences at 6pm for 6:30pm.
Graduation
Course 45 graduated from Fort Largs on Wednesday October 2. President Morris presented the RPOA trophy to Probationary Constable David Macadam.
Memorial service
Only a small number of retired members attended the National Police Remembrance Day memorial service at Fort Largs on Friday September 27. This was a pity, as we remembered those who were tragically killed in the performance of their duties. We who have retired must remember that it could have been one of us, but for the grace of God.
Vale
We extend sympathy to the families of Alan Sly, Frank Patterson and Kevin Waterman.
New members
The RPOA welcomes new members Brenton Sullivan, Terence Hall, Terry Carr, Chris Richards, Peter Walsh, Neil McKenzie, Darcie Newell, Eric Zschorn, Trevor Brettig, Ken Gunn, Barry Huffa and Alec Stevens.
The RPOA reminds those members who pay annually to pay up before reminders have to be sent out.
