Farewell to retirees

Many have retired from the police service over the last few months. It is timely to remind all members that, when they cease their membership of the Police Association, they also cease membership of the Police Club.

For a fee of $10, retiring members can continue their membership. Forms are available from the club to ensure continued membership.

The Police Club staff and committee wish all retirees well.

Look and listen for club advertising

You will very soon see and hear – in various locations – more advertising of the club’s features. This is another way of helping maintain your club for you.

Pay night function

The next pay-night function is scheduled for Sept 18. Look for details at the club and your workplace.

Monthly luncheons

Did you know the Police Association/Police Club holds a monthly luncheon? The luncheon is held on the last Monday of each month and attracts speakers from a wide range of fields. Give the club a call and book a seat or table.

Police Club presented with plaque

Members of the Third Royal Australian Regiment Association have been using the Police Club for formal and informal get-togethers and meetings for some years.

3RAR Association secretary, Warren Featherby, said his members found the club a comfortable and relaxing venue to hold regular formal and informal meetings, and enjoy each other’s company for lunch to talk over old times.

Police Club president, Nick Pippos, was recently presented with a plaque by 3RAR Association president, Jock Statton, in recognition of services provided to the 3RAR Association.

In accepting the plaque, President Pippos acknowledged the history of the 3RAR Association and thanked its members for supporting the Police Club.
