Meeting
Forty-six Retired Police Officers Association members attended their monthly meeting in Fenwick Hall in May and were welcomed by President Les Morris. The popular duo Arthur and Me provided entertainment, which was well received by the entire gathering.
Picnic
The committee is concerned that some people attending the October 20 picnic are not RPOA members. It was decided, however, that these people are welcome to attend as long as they donate $5 toward costs. In addition, Secretary Shirley Phillips would like advice well before the picnic of the names of those attending, and any children who will be accompanying them. This information is imperative for catering purposes.
Reunion: Course 47 February 25, 1957 to May 17, 1957
With a view to arranging a reunion, RL (Richard) Cook (Unit 56, Bay Village, Phillip Avenue, Victor Harbor, 5211) wants to contact all members of course 47. Could members of this course please contact Richard and assist him with the addresses of those he seeks?
Graduation
Course 40 graduated on May 1, 2002. President Morris presented the RPOA trophy to Probationary Constable Danny Suggate.
New members
The RPOA welcomes new member Chester Ronald Schmerl.
AGM
The RPOA annual general meeting will be held on Thursday July 4, 2002. Nominations for committee positions close in June.
Vale
The RPOA extends its deepest sympathy to the family of former traffic officer, Sylvan Carson, who died on April 9 this year.
Coming events
Events remaining for this year include:
- RPOA picnic (October 20).
- Annual dinner (November 21).
