Dear Andy
Please accept my resignation from the Police Association due to my separation from SAPOL, my last day of service being April 3, 2002.
I am pleased to say that I have enjoyed my time working within the organization and take with me some invaluable experience.
I have been fortunate enough to move through various postings on patrols, which has assisted me in attaining a position within another government agency.
I wish all well in their endeavours within SAPOL.
Regards

Dear Andy
Please accept my resignation from the Police Association of South Australia. I have accepted a position within Primary Industries and Resources of South Australia. My last day of service with SAPOL is Friday, April 26.
Since graduation in 1978, I have worked in a number of areas, including Port Adelaide patrols, Prosecution at Adelaide, Elizabeth and Port Adelaide, patrols at Para Hills, Underwater Recovery Section, STAR Division, EMES and Traffic Support Branch.
I thank all members with whom I have worked over the years and wish them the best for the future. It was a big step to leave an organization that I have been with since leaving school. However, I believe that members undervalue their capabilities and as a result some will miss opportunities that can arise in SAPOL, as well as the public and private sectors. I am taking up such an opportunity and look forward to the new challenge.

Dear Andy
I am writing to inform you of my resignation from SAPOL and the Police Association, which takes effect on May 5, 2002. I have been offered and accepted the position of risk analysis and intelligence manager for the Australian Customs Service, SA region. The 14 years since I joined SAPOL have flown by and with that time has gone so many exciting challenges, valued friendships and important lessons.
However, every season has its time, and I find that I have quite literally outgrown my place in the organization. Other possibilities beckon, and the opportunities that service with our federal government offers, particularly over the next two to five years, are exciting, to say the least.
I leave with no regrets and with a great sense of pride in my police service. Thanks are owed to so many that they cannot all be mentioned here, however, those individuals will know who they are and they have challenged me, stretched my mind, helped me test my limits and enhanced me. If the opportunity arises to return the favour, those brothers and sisters need only pick up the phone.
To those who remain with SAPOL (particularly those who are new to the organization), ignore the doomsayers. Every job is what you make it. Grasp every opportunity afforded you to do something different, and keep your eyes open for any possibilities. Above all, remember that education is the key, because education gives you choices and choices give you power over your own destiny.
Thanks to the Police Association for its hard work in improving conditions for members. Its efforts have been appreciated.
Regards

Dear Andy
Please accept this letter to inform you of my intention of resignation from the Police Association of South Australia. I have accepted a position offered me by the Australian Federal Police.
Although my time with SAPOL has been very short I have enjoyed the experience and benefited from being tutored by extremely experienced and knowledgeable senior officers. I was a member of Course 36 that graduated on November 21 last year. We were lucky to have as our mentor and main lecturer, Detective Senior Constable Vince Scotland. In particular, I express my thanks to Sergeants Peter Averis, Gary Warrick, Peter Pestka, Senior Constable Darren Hicks and all members of team four at Port Adelaide.
My final working day with SAPOL will be Wednesday, May 22, 2002.
Yours sincerely
Peter Slater
Probationary Constable
