Picnic
Under the shade of willow trees in a beautiful part of the Brownhill Creek Reserve, RPOA members watched the flowing creek and enjoyed a BYO picnic last November.
Graduation
RPOA members attended the graduation of course 36 on November 21 and saw 28 new probationers inducted into SAPOL. President Les Morris presented the RPOA trophy to Probationary Constable Craig Van Zuydam.
Police medal
On behalf of those members who just missed receiving the Imperial Police Medal, President Morris wrote to Commissioner Mal Hyde. He requested that the new police medal be made retrospective to 1976, when issue of the Imperial Medal ceased.
In his response, the Commissioner wrote of his regret and inability to grant the request due to expense and collation of past entitled members.
Annual dinner
More than 100 attended the RPOA annual dinner, which members enjoyed on November 22.
