Dear Andy
My last day of service being November 21, 2001 ends nearly 35 years in the police force. Ive seen plenty of changes in that time but they all seem to end up back at the proven, well-working original.
Im going to enjoy my latter years in the warmth of Darwin. If any of you who have worked with me and enjoyed a few laughs are passing through the Top End, make a point of calling me on 0403 275 571 plenty of room to stay, enjoy a swim and a cold beer.

Dear Andy
Please accept my resignation from the Police Association effective November 30, 2001 being my last day of service with SAPOL.
I have basically enjoyed my almost 39 years employment despite some puzzling decisions by many people of all ranks, despite the increasing workload for many members and despite having fewer members to do more with less budget every year.
However, I still believe it is a job that will tend to give back to you what you are prepared to put in it and if a positive attitude is adopted then you may enjoy it, most of the time.
Regards

Dear Andy
I hereby tender my resignation from the Police Association, my last day of service being Friday, November 30, 2001.
Looking back over my 39 years and nine months service within SAPOL, I am indeed appreciative of the assistance, support and friendship received from members within areas I have worked. I am thankful that, being a police officer, I have had the opportunity to work in the uniform and predominantly criminal investigation branch areas, both within the country and the city, overseas service (Cyprus) and the operational and management components of the service.
The experiences, memories, friends and close associates that I have attained since 1962 are irreplaceable and could not be achieved in any other work environment. I will always cherish the decision I made many years ago to follow in my fathers footsteps and be a career police officer.

Dear Andy
I wish to advise of my resignation from PASA due to my retirement on December 20, 2001, after 40 years and 10 months of service.
Although I have not needed to call on assistance from PASA during my time in SAPOL, I know of many others who have benefited from the advice and counsel that has been provided.
On those occasions when I have discussed matters with PASA staff in my management role, I have found them professional and fair.
I look forward to starting my new life on December 21, 2001. Good luck and my best wishes go to those who must carry on.
Bob Yates
Chief Inspector
Southern Operations Service Executive
