The year in review
At the close of 2001, we look back on what was a busy year for the Police Association. I expect that, as members demand more from their association to meet the challenges of a changing workforce and society, the tasks of 2002 will be equally confronting.
The association has this year achieved a successful enterprise agreement (EB3) and seen significant recruiting after the governments response to its staffing campaign.
Our national body, the Police Federation of Australia, continues to evolve. In the interests of its 43,000 members across the nation, the PFA has enjoyed considerable success through the past 12 months.
I thank members for their loyalty and continued support. On behalf of the committee of management, staff, delegates and branch officials, I wish all members and their families a happy and safe Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
