Monthly meeting

Sixty-four Retired Police Officers Association members attended their monthly meeting on August 2. The Metro Male Quintet and their ladies entertained the meeting with an enjoyable hour of harmony and amusing stories and prose.

Annual picnic

Members attending the annual picnic are required to bring a table and chairs and place their bookings with the secretary. Attendees need not be put off by inclement weather: arrangements have been made for an alternate venue at Fort Largs out of the elements. Given that members have been catered for, they should attend irrespective of the weather conditions.

Annual dinner

The annual dinner is scheduled for November 22. Those with the intention of attending should book and arrange their $19-per-head payment with Secretary Shirley Phillips as soon as possible.

Vale

The RPOA regrets the passing of member Barry Schemmell and extends its sympathy to his family.

New members

New members to the RPOA include Stephen Mahomet, Brian Hughes and David Tonks. The RPOA warmly welcomes any newly retired officer, as well as his or her spouse or partner.

Meetings are held at 2pm on the first Thursday of each month at the Police Association, where participants can enjoy each other’s company.
