Enterprise Bargaining Three

Association officials are currently in negotiation with government representatives relative to enterprise bargaining.

Members should be aware that wage increases as a result of a new enterprise agreement will apply from July 1, 2001. Consequently, when a new agreement is ratified, the increases will be backdated.

The association provided a detailed claim to the government on May 4, 2001.

Any agreement endorsed by the association will necessitate a full vote of the membership. In this regard, the membership has the ultimate choice.

The association’s claim includes a 12 per cent base wage increase across the board and other significant issues.

The association is committed to achieving a positive outcome for all members, who continue to perform their duties without appropriate resource allocation and staffing, and to seek compensation for coping with additional workloads and further organizational change.
