Monthly meeting
Fifty-six Retired Police Officers Association members attended their monthly meeting in the PASA building on May 1.
Trip to Burra
A trip to Burra is scheduled for August 9, and costs $30 per head (to be paid by August 2).
The coach will leave the Police Club at 8:30am. The outing will include a visit to Mr and Mrs Mitchell (née Kearville) for a “cuppa and chat”. Twenty more people are required for this trip.
Those who would like to go should contact the secretary or president as soon as possible so that plans can be finalized.
Entertainment
Eugene entertained RPOA members once more at their most recent meeting. Unfortunately, Georgina was on the sick-list and could not attend, but Eugene’s entertainment was enjoyed by all.
Picnic
A picnic at Fort Largs, scheduled for October 21, will be free with a barbecue lunch and refreshments supplied. RPOA members who want transport, and have not yet informed the secretary, are reminded to do so, so that final arrangements can be made.
Country members
Country RPOA members are welcome to attend the annual picnic, but are requested to notify the secretary so as to assist in assessment for catering.
Dinner
This year’s annual dinner will take place on November 22, and will be held once again at the Police Club at 27 Carrington Street. Those wishing to attend should notify the secretary. Bookings will close on October 30. The full cost of the dinner will be disclosed in a later issue of the Police Journal.
Committee
The RPOA’s annual general meeting is scheduled for July. Nominations for any positions on the RPOA committee can be lodged with the secretary.
