Meeting

Forty-six Retired Police Officers Association members braved extremely hot weather to attend their first general meeting for 2001 last month.

Tours

Plans are under way for bus tours to:

MONARTO and surrounding area – a Deluxe Travel coach will leave the Police Club at 9am on May 24. RPOA members intending to take this tour must pay $30 (per person) to the treasurer by May 30.

Burra and surrounding districts – members will leave the Police Club at 8:30am on August 9. This trip will also cost $30 per person.

Loxton to see the Christmas Lights (not confirmed) – planned for December, this trip will involve an overnight stay and cost $186. All meals and accommodation are included. The RPOA treasurer will take instalments, but interest in the trip must registered by March 29. Without sufficient numbers to fill a coach, the trip will have to be cancelled and alternative arrangements made.

AGM

The RPOA’s annual general meeting is fast approaching. Any member who wishes to join the committee should contact the secretary with advice of the position for which he or she cares to nominate.

Absent from journal

Retired Police has been absent from the last two issues of the Police Journal as no RPOA activities were undertaken in December, and January was dedicated to committee planning.

New members

The RPOA committee has received names of recently retired SA police officers. They are welcome to monthly RPOA meetings on the first Thursday of each month.
