THE RED PLANET

Filmed in part around Coober Pedy and opening in cinemas around Adelaide on December 7, stars Val Kilmer as an astronaut stranded in a hostile environment.

In what is best described as an action adventure movie, Kilmer survives a catastrophe that wipes out the first manned mission to Mars. Faced with the daunting task of merely surviving on Mars, he must also attempt to escape from the red planet.

MICHAEL JORDAN TO THE MAX

The first ever large-format film to focus exclusively on one athlete has now arrived. At Adelaide IMAX, Michael Jordan is truly larger than life.

Following Jordan’s final championship run with the Chicago Bulls, Michael Jordan to the Max uses the incredible visual and audio capabilities of the IMAX format to capture the real life and on-and-off-court story of the basketball champion. Viewers are taken on-court with Jordan as he demonstrates his ability to defy gravity.

THE REPLACEMENTS

eleased late last month, The Replacements is more than just a movie about American gridiron. Starring Gene Hackman and Keanu Reeves, the production excels in both drama and humour.

At our preview viewing were dramatic moments during which one could hear a pin drop, and comedy skits that had the entire audience in fits of laughter. Anyone looking for entertainment should consider The Replacements.

THE BILL

Fans of one of Australia’s most popular police dramas can now enjoy their favourite episodes on video with two brand new ABC Video releases of The Bill - When Opportunity KnocksGentleman Jim.

Featuring an award-wining cast, and true-to-life stories, these videos will keep fans of The Bill involved in the lives of Carver, Boulton, WPC Keane and the rest of the men and women working at the Sun Hill police station.

In True to Life Player, a football star’s return to Sun Hill turns sour when he is accused of sexually assaulting a young fan.
