Kaurna People Welcomed to PASA Conference |
|
| By
John Ballantyne |

In a historic first, the Police Association of SA recently welcomed representatives of the Kaurna people to its October annual conference in the Fenwick Hall.
In his opening address PASA president, Peter Alexander, said that, as the conference was taking place on traditional Kaurna land, he was pleased to acknowledge the presence of their representatives and thanked them for their attendance.
PASA secretary, Andy Dunn, later said that both he and Mr Alexander were extremely proud to be able to welcome the elders of the Kaurna people and looked forward to continued interaction with them.
We believe that this is the first time a police association, or police organization of any kind, has seen fit to perform an act of recognition in this way, he said.
