BOOTMEN
With an excellent cast of well-picked Australian actors, Bootmen delivers far more than the title might suggests. Not since The Castle have we seen a movie that is just so Australian, so dramatic and, at times, so funny.
Brothers Sean Okden (Adam Garcia) and Mitchell (Sam Worthington) are young Newcastle steelworkers. They both possess a very un-Ocker skill. They happen to be excellent tap dancers - a cause of concern for their very Australian father (Richard Carter) who, when hes not watching the rugby, is more interested in a real but non-existent future in the steelworks.
While Sean and Mitchell follow different career paths, one thing keeps them together - they both fall in love with Linda (Sophie Lee). The consequences of the affair are predictable but dramatic, as are many other moments in the movie, including the closure of the steelworks. Bootmen is a wonderful example of Australian entertainment, and a movie not to be missed.

IMAX ENTERTAINMENT
With two new movie releases, Imax Adelaide continues to provide high-quality entertainment. Those with a passion for world adventure will be captivated by the images provided by Galapagos. And, those with excitement on their minds will be delighted by Thrill Ride.
Galapagos flows Smithsonian Institution marine biologist, Dr Carole Baldwin, on her first undersea/on-land expedition of Ecuadors Galapagos Islands, a group of 19 islands and 42 islets.
Using the only two IMAX 3D cameras in the world, Galapagos took 14 weeks to film. Dr Baldwin and her colleagues identified more than a dozen new species of marine life. These and the entire range of Galapagos life are presented in splendid IMAX 3D, delivering a rare treat for viewers. This new IMAX experience is only rivalled by the real-life experience few will have the opportunity to undertake.
Thrill Ride puts every member of the audience in the front seat of some of the wildest rides ever created. The ultimate ride film, Thrill Ride not only traces the history of these rides, but also details how the development of the motion simulator ride has become one of the most exciting innovations in recent film history.
Thrill Ride explains the technology involved in developing the rides and tells how film-makers are able to take the movie-going experience to new levels, combining the excitement of the thrill ride with the overwhelming visuals of the big screen.
For the opportunity to win a double pass to one of these movie releases, put your details on the back of a used envelope and address it to IMAX Comp, SA Police Journal (168).
