OHS & W Training
Members elected as OHS & W representatives in their workplace have access to OHS & W training, which is provided by a number of organizations in South Australia. The preferred trainer of PASA is the ITSSA (Industrial & Training Services SA Inc, Ph: 82315508, E-mail: itssa@itssa.com.au).
Section 34 (4) of the OHS&W Act states that where there is a reasonable choice of courses of training available to a health and safety representative, the health and safety representative shall consult with the employer before choosing the course that he or she is to attend. ITSSA offers a range of courses for health and safety representatives for level 1 and 2 training courses, and its fees are competitive.

As the finalization of our claim draws closer, dont delay in debating the issues within your branches or with your delegates, or call me direct at the Police Association.
The Police Act 1998
If you are preparing to apply for a promotional position in SAPOL, I urge you to familiarize yourself with sections 53, 54, 55, 56, 57 and 58 of the Police Act, 1998 and regulations 31 - 34, 38 and 39 of the Police Regulations, 1999.
