(For example, a former band 1 increment 8 employee would progress from increment 8 in the new structure to increment 9 on 1.7.99 and from increment 9 to increment 10 on 1.7.00 and so on).

Increment progression for other constables shall be on the anniversary of appointment to their existing increment and shall continue 12-monthly until the new 11th increment.

For NCOs, increment progression shall be after 12 months and shall continue 12-monthly until the new 4th increment. (For example, a former band 1 employee will progress from increment 1 in the new structure to increment 2 on 1.7.99 and from increment 2 to increment 3 on 1.7.00 and so on).

All members who were permanent band 4 employees as at 19/11/98 will be paid a restructuring allowance of $800 per annum from the first pay week commencing on or after July 1, 1999. This applies only to those members who have not been promoted or reverted in rank. This allowance only applies while employees hold their current rank. SAPOL has indicated that this will be paid on a fortnightly basis.

The enterprise agreement remains in force from November, 19, 1988 for a period of 2 years. The parties have agreed to commence negotiations for a further agreement at the termination of this current agreement.

A further agreement will be negotiated and wage increases will apply from 1 July 2001.
