Monthly Meeting
Forty-five Retired Police Officers Association members braved hot conditions to attend their monthly meeting on March 2. Apologies were made for nine others non-attendance.
Police Credit Union member services officer, Heather Hemingway, addressed the meeting, which kept members informed of the latest PCU policies. The RPOA is grateful to the credit union for providing Heather as a regular guest speaker. However, she will attend the RPOAs April meeting as a singer/entertainer rather than a speaker.
Entertainment
Versatile master of the electronic organ, Barry Hall, entertained members at the March meeting. His performance was extremely well received, and he will entertain at future meetings.
Mystery Tour
About 30 members participated in a mystery tour last month. Details of the trip will appear in a future issue of the Police Journal.
New Member
All who have dealt with the Police Health Fund would know Pat Curtin, better known as Tricia. Following her recent retirement, and under the rules of the RPOA, she will be welcomed as a new member - upon her application. The RPOA looks forward to her membership.
Secretarys Progress
RPOA secretary, Shirley Phillips, is convalescing well in the Hampstead Centre after her recent operation. Those in the vicinity of the centre are invited to call in and visit.
RPOA Award
Constable JJ Horder was presented with the RPOAs Operational Safety Award trophy by RPOA president, Les Morris, at a graduation ceremony in February. Constable Horder was a very appreciative winner.
Meetings
RPOA meetings are held on the first Thursday of every month. All members are invited to attend.
