Dear Sir
Please accept my resignation from the Police Association, my last day of service with SAPOL was January 20, 2000. I thank all those I have worked with over the last 14 years and those who chose to stand by me during a very stressful period just prior to resigning.
Yours sincerely
Terry Matthews
Dear Peter and Andy
Please accept my resignation from the Police Association due to my resigning from SAPOL. My last day of service is February 9, 2000, and is due to me becoming involved in a family business. With an addition to the family expected, the prospect of normal working hours and the chance to create my own opportunities was too good an offer to refuse.
I thank all the people I have had the pleasure of working with in my positions at Tea Tree Gully patrols, Transit, the defunct ORS and lastly STAR Group. Over the last nine years I have made a lot of friends who I will never forget and experienced the camaraderie that I believe you can only experience in the job. To all of my past supervisors I thank you for your trust, leadership and encouragement over the years. I believe it helped me to be the best copper I could be.
As for all of you who continue to do the thankless job, I wish you all the best and hope that things improve in the near future.

Senior Constable 3731/8

Dear Sir
Please accept my resignation from the Police Association as of February 25, 2000, this being my last day of service with SAPOL. I leave to take up new employment within the Department of Treasury and Finance.
To my course mates (course 48) and all those members I have worked with over the past nine years at Nuriootpa, Plympton, Glenelg Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault Section and most recently Sturt Investigation I wish you well. I thank you for all the good memories I will take with me.
I wish you well in your fight for better working conditions for members and specifically for easier access to part-time employment and family-friendly working conditions. This has been a major factor in my decision to leave SAPOL.
Yours faithfully
Helen Laity
Constable 457/6

Dear Andy
Please accept my resignation from the Police Association effective March 15, 2000. I am leaving SAPOL to pursue my interests in the viticulture industry. To the friends and associates I have come to know over the past 18-and-a-half years, I wish you all the best.
Regards

The President
I am tendering my resignation from the Police Association as from March 16, 2000. I have served for 41 years in the police department of which I served over 40 years at Port Adelaide.
I have over all those years enjoyed the association companionship for both personal and industrial protection provided by the power which rises from common interest and loyalty given by it members.
Loyalty is a major tenet of my life values. This value arose from a hard life suffered in my formative years in Islington, a tough suburb of London. My life as a seaman travelling all over the world showed me abject poverty and misery which was usually imposed on them by the more fortunate in the community.
This aspect of our lives must be fostered and remain the backbone of all the values which we as good people must uphold. Sadly we have at this time an executive section which appears only concerned with the corporate image, and believe loyalty is a conspiracy to undermine their empire.
When considering my resignation letter I had all sorts of negative thoughts. The persons who I could have named are so void of any sensitivity, they would not have sufficient sense to see the error of their ways.
My last words to you all are: look after yourselves, stick by your mates. Dont ever forget - no man is an island.
I wish you all my sincerest wishes in your future careers, no matter which course you select. It has been a wonderful time for me to have worked with such a great group of people. From the opening words of the film Upstairs and Downstairs: Dont let the bastards get you down. Get out there and enjoy your lives.
Best wishes
RG Mac McCluskey
Dear Andrew
I would like to inform you that as of April 1, 2000, I will have resigned from the SA Police and would therefore also on the same date like to cancel my membership with the Police Association of SA.
Thank you for your time in this matter and I would like to place a personal thanks to the kindness of Lesley, whose voice it was always a pleasure to hear.
Kind regards
Renata Griffith

It is with regret that I tender my resignation from SAPOL. I joined the South Australia Police Department in 1988, serving seven years on metro patrols, three years at Gumeracha, and this last year at Adelaide Prosecution Services. The rewards of serving the community and upholding the law has been gratifying and will never be forgotten. Likewise, the life experiences gained will benefit me in future endeavours. Special thanks to Chief Inspector Chris Zanker, Superintendent Hank Ramm, and all staff from Adelaide Adjudication and Prosecution who made my last year so fulfilling. It was a great place to work.
