Monthly Meeting

Forty-five Retired Police Officers Association members attended their monthly meeting at the Police Association on February 3.

Apologies for non-attendance came from Margaret Bean, Ray and Beth Williams, Hilda Kellett and Rob and Barbara Thomson.

Sadly, the meeting was informed that RPOA secretary, Shirley Phillips, had been taken to St Andrews Hospital by ambulance.

Trips

RPOA members toured Hindmarsh Island by bus in January and thoroughly enjoyed the event.

Future excursions are planned which include a boat trip with a barbecue lunch in June. A mystery trip is being organized for March 23 at a cost of $25 per head.

Members interested in either of these trips should contact me on 8261 5759 as soon as possible.

PCU Address

Police Credit Union member services officer, Heather Hemingway, addressed the February meeting, which brought members up to date with PCU information.

Awards

RPOA life membership and certificates were presented to Ray Holloway, Beth Turner, Joy Teague, Nan Morris and Jean Zacher for their services to the association.

On the Sick List

One of the RPOA’s oldest members, Hazel Millowick, is recovering from a stroke in Hampstead Centre. Members who wish to contact her should call the centre.

Welcome Visits

Recently visited by the assistant secretary, Frank Bone is now residing in the Maitland Village. He wished to be remembered to all RPOA members and welcomed further visits.
