Andy

Please accept my resignation from the Police Association. Since July 1999 I have been employed by the Commonwealth Government as the Defence Equity Co-ordinator - SA. My resignation from SAPOL was effective December 1, 1999.

Thank you to those people with whom I shared fun, exciting, terrifying times. You know who you are. Your commitment and honour to “the job” or more importantly, the people who do “the job”, will not be forgotten.

To those members of SAPOL committed to the task of creating an equitable and diverse organization, where individuals are respected for “difference” as much as they are for “sameness”, I wish you luck and stamina.

Kate Hampton

Dear Peter

I wish to resign from the Police Association, my last day of service with SAPOL being January 5, 2000.

I wish all the doers in “the job” all the very best in these exciting times of change. I believe those embracing the change are most likely to benefit. I am not leaving disillusioned, dissatisfied or discontented. I am merely embarking on a new challenge and grasping an opportunity that has come my way largely due to the knowledge and skills built upon in my 15 years with SAPOL. “The job” has been good to me and I thank the friends I have made and intend to keep.

Good Luck.

Dear Andy

Please accept my resignation from the Police Association due to my retirement from SAPOL to take effect on January 5, 2000.

I was intending to write quite a long letter detailing the frustrations of my fellow officers at the sharp end, you know, shortage of patrols to the point of putting ourselves at risk; comms on our backs as the jobs pile up; doing ten things at once so that eventually you have to turn a blind eye; gathering all this intelligence and then finding we have no one to act on it; total lack of promotion; and so on. What am I telling you for - you’ve heard it all before.

But then I read Supt Trueman’s letter and I realized what a bunch of self-absorbed ungratefuls we are (what the hell was all that about?). Call me a dinosaur, but maybe we should think about going back to basics.

Anyway, I’ll have to leave it up to you guys to sort it out - I’ve got some serious fishing to catch up on. Full accolades to the association. Keep punching. Please pass on my appreciation to Sean Richter for his recent advice. Best of luck to the misfits on team three at Tea Tree Gully.

See ya.

The Secretary

Please accept my resignation from the Police Association as I have tendered my resignation from SAPOL effective January 7, 2000.

Kym Lindner

Dear Andrew

Please accept my resignation from the Police Association effective immediately due to my forthcoming resignation early next year. I wish you all the best for the future.

Yours sincerely
